Returning to an old project

I posted a while ago about a blanket I was knitting using an unusual technique called knitweaving or inlay. I switched to other projects for a while, but I've come back to it and it's making me happy again.

The grey background yarn is old family stash that belonged to either my grandmother or great-grandmother. All the other yarn is short lengths of handspun from a Ravelry group swap.

One of the things I like about this technique is that it doesn't matter that the swap yarns vary in thickness, so long as the thickest yarn fits into a row of stitches.
